Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a tragedy by William Shakespeare following the love story of two star-crossed lovers. In Verona, there is an ongoing feud between the families of Capulet and Montague. After a fight breaks out in town between the two families, the Prince warns that anyone who disturbs the peace again will be sentenced to death. Lord Capulet wants his daughter, Juliet, to marry a man named Paris once she is a few years older.
Later that night, Juliet meets Romeo from the house of Montague at a Capulet party he is attending to distract himself from another girl named Rosaline. The two meet and instantly fall in love, but their meeting is quickly interrupted when Juliet’s cousin Tybalt learns there are Montagues at the Capulet party. For that reason, Romeo diverges from his group of friends unable to leave Juliet behind. While hiding in the garden, Romeo overhears Juliet on her balcony and reveals himself and confesses his love. This language used originally by Shakespeare, is lyrical, poetic, and very descriptive. The descriptions of the characters emotions and thoughts help to fully express how beautifully tragic this love story was. Since all three of these pieces tell the same story, they all share the same theme. Two lovers, who are never meant to be together, sacrifice their lives for love and in turn their love triumphs over the hate between the two families. Love sees no boundaries and will always find a way, even when everything seems like it is not meant to be. Even though the two lovers face a tragic end, their love lives on through the restored relationship between the two families, proving that love conquers
