These are the beliefs that the members of the party followed. INGSOC is a party that treated people unfairly. They had no confidentiality, intimacy, freedom and no rights to feel love but Winston and Julia broke that rule. Winston and Julia share similar characteristics like they about are rebelling against the Party.

Winston Smith is a thirty-nine-year-old male. He is a member of the party, he works at the Ministry of the Truth. Unprofessional knowledgeable who cherishes a secret hatred of the party. Winston was married but was separated from his wife, and he has no children. Winston lost his mother, and his younger sister whom reflect to his past in which he remembers very well. She is a member of the Party, and she works in the Fiction Department of the Ministry of Truth. Julia is a promiscuous and rebellious women but she does not care about upsetting the government. She is interested only in her survival and personal rebellion against the party. Julia has had sex with another party members including Winston Smith. Julia and Winston Love story started when one day she decided to fake a fall and then she slips a note
Which reads, “I love you”.

Winston and Julia are against the Party but they act upon their feelings of dissatisfaction. Julia uses her sexuality to rebel against the party. She confesses to sleeping with several members of the Party. She is not interested in destroying, the establishments and she is not interested in understanding how the government controls its citizen. Julia detested the Party’s ideology of Purity.

“I hate purity, I hate goodness! I don’t want any virtue to exist anywhere. I want everyone to be corrupt to the bones.” (PART 2, CHAPTER 2)
