Similarities Between When The Emperor Was Divine By Elie Wiesel

The differences and similarities between the two books called When the Emperor Was Divine, by Julie Otsaka, and Night” by Elie Wiesel are about how the two narrators experienced a tough phase of imprisonment during the World War II. It all began throughout the 1940’s Japanese and Jewish people were considered as enemies. These poor individuals were falsely accused of something they did not do. All families were forced to leave their homes, businesses, and belongings behind. There are tons of sad events that took place in these two novels. One is that newborns and children were involved. They had no clue about what was going on around them. Another would be that many innocent lives were killed. Not very many got to live their life to the fullest. Others had hope that the tragic nightmare was going to end soon. All together these differences and similarities affected Julie Otsaka and Elie Wiesel life physically, mentally, and emotionally. …show more content…
For, example if someone made fun of a Japanese or Jewish person they would have to stay silent and not make a big deal. They feared taking further action because no one would believe them and get punished for no reason. Situations like this can be uncomfortable especially if you don’t have anyone by your side. Rights were taken away from prisoners. Jewish and Japanese people were mistreated, tortured, beaten up to death, and forced to work as slaves. There were some people that suffered from different disabilities. I believe that they both had the right to live no matter what because they are all human beings just like any other person.
