To start off, morality stood out as a learning curve not only to Jem and Scout but also to readers. Reading a book that has powerful lessons caught the attention to learn more about right and wrong. The book holds many life teachings that everyone can observe from. Although The Chosen also held positive lessons, To Kill a Mockingbird had more simple, but yet complex lessons that showed the message. Not only did it have lessons of morality, but also how people judge each other. For example, the novel displays examples of how judging can ruin people. Real life people in books remain easier to relate to. For example, Atticus, the father of Jem and Scout, sounds like a fictional character in the book, but he actually exists. Atticus remains like a role model to many people, and the fact that he dd not a represent a made up character impacts the way people look up to him.
