Books can be similar and different. In Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird and Gaines’ A Lesson Before Dying they both share similar themes and characters, but they also have a world’s difference. To Kill A Mockingbird is told in perspective of a financially stable white girl during The Great Depression. A Lesson Before Dying is told by a black man who is struggling in life while trying to help a friend die like a man.
