"The Sesame Street Video" and "The Gift of the Magi" have some very interesting similarities and differences. They are similar in that all characters in each story loved and valued Christmas more than imaginable. Both are the same because it seems that all the characters once again all care about others feeling more than their own and they are just really thoughtful. The differences between "The Sesame Street Video" an "The Gift of the Magi" are that they both have different taste, for example, while Jim and Della like expensive items; sterling silver watch and tortoise combs with jewel rims. Bert and Ernie on the other hand like little things with sentimental value in them; rubber duck and collectable paper clips. A notable difference

After reading 'The Junky's Christmas', it reminded me of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens. They both illustrate how a self-serving, insensitive person can be converted into charitable, caring, and socially conscious members of society. It also associates with the Christmas moral ideas such as generosity, kindness, and universal love for the community. I like both of these stories because it makes you rethink of how important human relationships are and that no one can live alone. So helping each other is very necessary, even for a junky!…

In the poem, “Who is Ebenezer Scrooge?” By Simone Brooklyn, she is trying to convey the concept that our own selves tend to assume what other people are like without genuinely knowing who they really are by asking the public in respect to the main character, is he really who people assume him to be? Thinking about him in a positive way, however, asking, again, the audience if everything we believed about him was true. Have you ever wondered what would happen if your life was switched around completely in the blink of an eye? Some would believe that it would make everything better, but they are wrong. In both stories, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Carol”, the main characters are put in very strange positions in life that will alter the way they see the world, forever. In both narratives, the main characters are very rude and cold-hearted without a care in the world about their family or friends, and by the end of both stories, the main characters have learned their lessons and become very cautious with the things they love and should appreciate. However, the characters nor the stories themselves are exactly the same in all terms.…

The society in the popular utopian/dystopian book, The Giver, may seem the better alternative of our modern day society, the dream land that everyone wishes we could achieve, but when we compare how each society functions, maybe this so called ¨perfect world¨ isn't as perfect as we would have hoped it to be.
