The first poem is The Seafarer, this poem is an interesting one. This viking the seafarer is on a boat in the middle of the freezing cold ocean searching for a new place. This ship is complete desolation no one around besides him. He is hanging in ice freezing and hungry. The boat is described as a frozen hell no one wants to be there. So why does he do it? This question is often asked by many people. He chose this life so why is he describing it. Well thats exactly it he chose this life. Other people have no idea whats its like or why he chooses to do this. He cant just stay in the city and live a boring life he has to get out and explore even if that means suffering he still gonna do what he loves. This poem oddly enough has a female speaker. That is not normal at all for this time period that is male controled. The women are required to listen and do everything the man says and if they refuse they get jacked. In this poem the speaker is said because she has been exiled to the forest because her husband as left her. She lives all alone under a tree in a den. The speaker is lost in an ocean of her emotions, she mourns for her husband. But at the same time has bitterness and hate towards him. This is an odd feeling of love and hate. Is that possible?
