The belief in life after death is a subject that has been addressed and debated over for centuries; therefore it is inevitably discussed in many literary works throughout history. In many cultures and religions, a person’s belief or disbelief in an afterlife alone is of major importance.
One example of this is in Islamic religion, which bases its’ beliefs off of the Qu’Ran. They believe the Qu’Ran is the last revealed Word of Allah. In Qu’Ran 34:3-5 it states, “Those who disbelieve say: ‘The hour will never come unto us.’ Say: ‘Nay by my Lord but it is coming unto you surely.’ He is the knower of the Unseen. Not an atom’s weight or less than that or greater, escapes him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear record, that He may reward those who believe and do good works. For them is pardon and a rich provision. They believe that when a person dies, the spirit remains alive while the physical body is dead. They also believe Heaven is ranked with levels, rather than one continuous place. Qu’Ran 52:20-21 states, "They will recline (with ease) on thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and we shall join them to companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. And those who believe and whose families follow them in faith -- to them shall we join their families: nor shall we deprive them (Of the fruit) of aught Of their works: (Yet) is each individual In pledge for his deeds.” It is also believed that there is no evil in Heaven, as it is called the “Home of Peace.” The Quran states, "For them will be a home of peace in the presence of their Lord: He will be their friend, because they practiced righteousness” (6:127). This quote also clarifies that Allah will be in one’s presence in Heaven
