Similarities Between The Most Dangerous Game And The Cask Of Amontillado

Stories exists since the beginning of humanity, and it become a way to communicate, inform, and entertain, being adapted to the new ways to send messages, from the oral story telling to Kindle. Although there are no identical stories, there’s something called ´´ Compare and Contrast`` , which consists in trying to find the similarities and differences between two different literary works. On that case´´ The Cask of Amontillado``, written by Edgar Allan Poe, which tells the story of Montresor and his enemy Fortunato, who had humiliated Montresor, wanting revenge, and ´´ The Most Dangerous Game``, story of a sailor who finds himself in a island, and is received by General Zaroff, a hunter who kills humans. written by Richard Connell. Observing and analysing both stories, we can conclude that both have similarities and differences, when we talk about the characters, between Montresor from “The Cask of Amontillado,” and Zaroff from ´´The Most Dangerous Game``. Both Montresor and General Zaroff wanted to kill someone, Fortunato ´´…``( Edgar Allan Poe),and Rainsford´´…``(Richard Connell), respectively. Another similarity that can be easily identified is that both characters are from the same gender, because both characters are men. As no one else knew that Fortunato died ´´…``( Edgar Allan Poe). , no one else had known about Zaroff´s death ´´…``(Richard Connell)..
