The Holocaust And The Crucible Two seemingly unrelated events that have so much more in common than just the word, “the.” Although these times were hundreds of years apart, numerous connections can be made throughout the two events. Hitler had an astounding amount of power over the Nazi army. Hitler had convinced the people through anti semitism that Jewish people were bad, and that was the reason that Germany was failing in so many aspects. The people, fearing the repercussions, would listen to what he had to say, and then execute whatever it was he asked. On the same note, Abigail Williams could accuse anyone of witchcraft, and give that person a “fair” trial. She also exploited the hostility towards witches that ran rampant throughout the town. He exploited anti semitism and allowed hostility to boil within the country by telling the people about the Jewish people's’ faults. In the same regard, Abigail Williams controlled the rest of the girls that were in the forest that day with the same type of fear, and she controlled the people of the town with the same type of lies. She went through every day life telling lies that would create more hostility, and inspire more ways to send people to the gallows. She had the girls under her thumb to the point that, if any were to step up and say something, the rest would say that she was being bewitched, or use some other means to show that she was in the wrong, “Abigail, looking about in the air, clasping her arms about her as though cold: I-I know not. A wind, a cold wind, has come. Her eyes fall on MARY WARREN,” (Miller 48). This shows that Abigail is starting to manipulate the court into seeing that Mary Warren has used some form of witchcraft upon
