Franklin Roosevelt was elected in November of 1932 . When Roosevelt was elected president the country was deep in the Great Depression and had lost any hope of getting out of the Depression. Roosevelt wanted to bring back that hope , so he made the new deals the first second and third .These were plans to renew the country from the Depression and give the people hope . Roosevelt was diagnosed in 1921 with polio , which restricted him from both of his legs. Even though his polio restricted him physically he tried not to let it restrict him mentally and with his job. That is a quote from FDR and he was telling America that we have to be brave through everything that happening during the hardest time of the depression. In the book scout is brave and she is technically not really scared of anything but Boo .when she rolls into the radley's porch and she hears something she gets scared . None of them have actually seen Boo but they have heard stories and they have out a image in their head of that he looks like. .We all have done this we hear something and then we think of the bad things about them , knowing what they have done in the past to get that bad image . Scout had this bad image in her mind of Boo and was scared of the image in her head
