In the book, The Giver Jonas is selected to be the receiver of memories. The Giver transmits his memories before the “sameness” to Jonas. In The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen is selected to participate in The Hunger Games, she and Gale, the other participant from her district have to fight twenty-two other tributes to win. Both stories have many differences, along with many similarities, some of which including the location of the towns, and even the main conflict.
