“A Plague a Both Your Houses!”
Family Feud Leaves Two Dead and One Exiled jade guan unfolded yesterday in the market square after two were killed in a violent duel.
Benvolio Montague and Mercutio of Verona, were seen exchanging verbal taunts with Tybalt Capulet just a day after the Romeo Montague was spotted the Capulet’s annual pre-Lammas party.
This very conflict may have been the cause of yesterday’s quarrel. In fact, Tybalt called Mercutio out on consorting with Romeo. In which Mercutio quickly retaliated.
The scene rapidly escalated after Romeo Montague arrived. Romeo refused to fight Tybalt even though was a Capulet.
“The Prince expressly hath forbid this bandying in Verona streets”, said Romeo.

Tybalt, taking the moment of pause by Romeo, thrusted his sword under Romeo’s arm and mortally wounded Mercutio before fleeing.
Mercutio was pronounced dead a few minutes later, cursing the houses of Montague and Capulet.
Tybalt returned later, presumedly to finish off Romeo. However, this led to a sudden burst of outrage from Romeo as he fatally stabbed Tybalt. Romeo escaped before the Prince’s guards arrived.
The family of both Romeo and Tybalt congregated later to hear the sentence of Romeo. Many feared the execution of Romeo in accordance to the Prince’s warning just a few days earlier.
“Tybalt, here slain, whom Romeo’s hand did slay. Romeo, that spoke him fair, bid him bethink how nice the quarrel was, and urged withal [Prince Escalus] high displeasure”, said Benvolio
However, Tybalt’s aunt, Lady Capulet thought otherwise, “He is a kinsman to the Montague; affection makes him false, he speaks not true”.
Even though his own relation was a victim in the brawl, Prince Escalus’ final verdict for Romeo was justified murder. His life was spared but in punishment for the killing of Tybalt, he has been banished from
