At the beginning of Romeo and Juliet the Prologue talks about “the fearful passage of [Romeo and Juliet’s] death-marked love, and the continuance of their parents’ rage”. Without the Montague and Capulets hatred for each other, Romeo and Juliet would have not been star-crossed lovers.
