In the book and movie, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare and Baz Luhrmann respectively, Romeo and Juliet love each other to an extreme. Romeo and Juliet is a story where Romeo and Juliet have to fight through many conflicts to share their love with each other. The city of Verona is nasty, brutal place but their love for eachother brightens Verona. The contrast between the ugly setting of the film and the beautiful imagery of light shows the deep and true love of Romeo and Juliet. The setting in the film, Romeo+Juliet, directed by Baz Luhrmann, is an extremely ugly and miserable place. The urban city, Verona, is extremely disgusting and nasty. The amount of pollution in the air is unreal and there is garbage everywhere on the streets.
