Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet

Love That Ends In Death Many teenagers when they so called “fall in love” tend to have the urge to do things they are not supposed to, Act without thinking,moving too fast, etc; But not only teenagers can relate to this, most people when they fall in love are blinded by the idea, and the person they are in love with. Shakespeare captures this idea perfectly in his play “Romeo and Juliet.” Shakespeare wants us to see romeo and juliet and their understanding of love, and how it compares to what we view as love and how we can relate. He wants us to understand his ideas, such as the motif of the eye and his idea of letting our emotions get the best of us, that the type of “love” that Romeo and Juliet have is a destructive love, love that is “too rash, too sudden, to like the lightning.” (Act 2, Scene 2) The type of love that makes us think with our hearts, not our minds. …show more content…

Not only do we see this idea with love, we see these rash actions with negative emotions as well, such as anger and sadness. We see this when Romeo fights tybalt out of anger and murders him, Romeo does not think twice what the prince had said had said to him previously He just acts on his emotions of anger. Shakespeare wants us to see that the characters in this play never think about the consequences and they let their emotions over power. Shakespeare also uses this idea again when Romeo is mourning over Rosaline. He talks about how he would never find someone who is as beautiful as Rosaline and never find love again, but in his sadness quickly moves on to juliet and claims to have fallen even more in love with Juliet.
