Racism, Land and Corrupting Pride: Imperialism at its Finest
The harbinger of death to many, bringer of fear and corruption along with greed and pride. What comes to mind when you hear this, some think the grim reaper but from 1800 to 1914 it was known as imperialism. During this time period imperialism appealed to many large nations with need for power. To satisfy the need they sought out land from weaker countries like China and Africa and many others. The nation's thought a piece of land they thought would lead to power and cheap labor but it was instead a blood bath. Imperialism was a terrible thing that should not have happened.

During the time of imperialism there was some good being spread, some of the country's sent doctors, teachers and priests to help the natives. Unfortunately with this kind of goodwill usually comes a catch, this was in many cases destroying much of the native culture and replacing it with their own laws, government, religion and in most cases language. They got to keep everything practically the same as it was, except that they had more British imports and all the next in line prince they were given a complimentary scholarship to (enter school name) so they could learn British ways and eventually rule like the British would. This worked in the British favor so that they could indirectly rule their colonies. Imperialism was bad in many ways but it had some good parts to share.
Despite the benefits of imperialism it was wrong for many reasons like the racism, wars, genocide, death of many cultures, languages, traditions and much more. This wasn't just in the 1800’s it still has left repercussions today and even though we are still trying to regain the cultures but there are some that will never be regained from the tyranny of imperialism. Imperialism itself is a horrible thing that caused horrible repercussions that outweighed the positives, overall imperialism was not worth
