Odysseus shows extreme hubris when he defeated the cyclops. Walt is different, Walt created the Beautiful theme park Disney and he didn’t brag or think he was better than others. When Odysseus was fighting Polyphemus he had already beat him and embarrassed him. During the battle Odysseus completely destroys Polyphemus’s eye and brags about it, “[Odysseus] called back with another burst of anger, “Cyclops if any man on the face of the earth should ask you who blinded you, shamed you say Odysseus, raider of cities, he gouged out your eye Laertes’ son who makes his home in Ithaca” (Fages IX. 558-562). Odysseus could have stayed calm and left without saying anything and protected his kleos, but he portrayed hubris and told his name that almost got him killed by Polyphemus’s father. Odysseus was just like the suitors being brazen back in Ithaca. Walt did not take all the credit for the ideas that Disney creates.
