Similarities Between North America And The Aztecs

Who were the people that discovered North America? How did they get here and why did the come? Approximately 30,000 years ago, small groups of Paleolithic hunters and food gatherers began to migrate toward North America from Asia. The migration of these people took place when temperatures dropped greatly from what they had been. This was known as the Ice Age. During the Ice Age, a great amount of water froze into thick sheets, which caused the sea level to drop. The exposed a land bridge between Siberia and Alaska in the area known as, the “Bering Strait.” When this happened, hunters followed herds of bison and mammoths across this land bridge. Other migrating people paddled boats and fished along the coast for food. Earth’s climate began to increase, melting the ice that once had been used as a bridge. The people began to slowly migrate eastward and southward across the Americas, forming different groups and civilizations. Although many civilizations were formed, the Aztecs and the Incas had many similarities and differences in regards to their Religion and Government.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, religion is defines as “an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods.” Although there are many different forms and practices of religion, many people have different views on religion.
