Nathaniel and Benjamin Smith were two brothers who, although they loved each other, disagreed on many ideas. For instance, Nathaniel was a Patriot while Benjamin was a Loyalist. Benjamin had a wife and two children, a girl and a boy. Nathaniel was also married, he had two children and one on the way. The two brothers were dedicated to their families and would do anything for them. Nathaniel had been an independent person since he was very young. When he moved to the colonies he was just a boy. He married his wife when he was twenty-three and started having children when he was twenty-five. His oldest child died when she was just eight years old. She died of small pox.
