In “Fahrenheit 451”, by Ray Bradbury, the characters Mildred and Clarisse serve as foils to one another. Clarisse represents the “feared” and the different part of society, while Mildred is the normal acting citizen in the society. When put side by side, there are practically no similarities between the two; in fact, Mildred and Clarisse are almost complete opposites of eachother. One of the main differences between the two is their personalities.
