In the novel of The Gatsby there are multiple characters that adds up to making the story great. The narrator which also could be considered the Protagonist Nick Carraway was a more relaxed character and was tracking a specific person. A very pretty woman by the name of Daisy Buchanan was the “American Dream Girl” in this novel. Jay Gatsby a very important character in this novel was stuck on living in the past when he had the girl he wanted and was doing whatever it took to get things back to how they were. One last character is a woman named Myrtle, she was a mistress of Tom Buchanan and loved by him. The movies The Great Gatsby by Baz Luhrmann and Midnight In Paris all have a similar character if not the exact same as The Great Gatsby novel.

The character by the name of Gil is the narrator and the protagonist but is more laid back and watch things happen just like Nick Carraway and is tied in with the jay gatsby character in the novel The Great Gatsby. They both want to live in the past and are determined to do so. A Woman named Arianna has a role of Daisy Buchanan as the “The American Dream Girl”and Myrtle's role as a mistress. She is who Gil goes see at night all the time and loves her too.
