Introduction:
IPL, Intense Pulsed Light, is a relatively new medical technology that awards itself of being a source of bright pulsed energy that, is neither one-color nor clear, but rather has got a wide-ranging wavelength spectrum. IPL can be adjusted to different wavelengths to fit all the tones of colors, making it ideal to use on a wide array of different skin tones. These colors are modified by crystal filters that function as trimmers and allow the selection of precise wavelengths for each target that has to be treated. Thus, the system is very adaptable; each pulse of light can be enhanced and tailored for each specific issue such as broken capillaries, marks, pigmentation or excess hairs and so on. It is a non-disruptive treatment

Similarities between Lasers and IPLs
In both Lasers and IPLs, the basic principle is the absorption of photons by chromophore within the skin and the transfer of energy to these chromophore. A chromophore a part of a molecule that is important for color. A specific range of visible light that hits a specific chromophore is absorbed by exciting an electron. Pulse duration, in both laser and IPLs, should be lower than the thermal relaxation time of the targeted structure to avoid harm to the surrounding tissue.
Difference between Lasers and IPLs
The bright radiation, emitted by laser, is monochromatic and penetrates only at a specific depth. It is restricted to that small range depth. IPL however has a broad spectrum that produces biological effects at various depths of the skin that is radiated by different lengths of wave. Therefore, the IPL is a procedure able to treat various beauty blemishes and diseases. Other vital features to enhance its exceptional versatility are:
 The related security of IPLs is greater because of the scarcity of the negative

The redness that is present following the procedure lasts only a few hours after the treatment, but it may persist for a longer or shorter time depending on treatment done.
It is unlikely to damage the top layers of epidermis of the skin because it uses several wavelengths of enhanced energy to treat the skin, unlike other laser treatments that normally use an intense all at once light, risking a higher change of side effects.
This treatment method can be done within a short amount of time. The procedure usually only forty-five minutes, making it suitable for most individuals to have it performed even during working hours. A treated individual can go out in the sun after the procedure, but should take necessary precaution by applying sunscreen. Makeup is not advised but can be worn after a treatment session.
Results can often been seen quickly after the first treatment but that depends on the severity of the condition.
Disadvantages
This method of cosmetic therapy may require between three to six sessions for flawless

Laser wrinkle reduction treatments are truly innovative because they work to treat wrinkles from the inside out. During the treatment, as the laser is passed over the targeted area, the light penetrates through the outer layers of skin and travels to the dermis below. The heat from the laser energy causes localized damage to the underlying skin cells, prompting the natural production of collagen. New collagen growth fills in lines and smooths out skin for the visible reduction of wrinkles-this leads to a naturally younger…
