She says “O, never shall sun that morrow see!”. This shows that she is in charge as she is the one who is pushing for murder. This also shows that Lady Macbeth is violent and aggressive. Throughout Act 1, Scene 5 Lady Macbeth keeps telling Macbeth what to do such as telling him to “look like the innocent flower but be the serpent under’t” Shakespeare uses an imperative to show that Lady Macbeth is the one in control of the relationship. Curley’s wife moves the plot forward and is a key character to what happens in the novella as if Lennie hadn’t killed her, then Lennie wouldn’t have ended up dead and the ‘American dream’ would have been achieved.
The two female characters are victims of their own ambition such as Curley’s wife wanting to get attention but when she got some off of Lennie she didn’t realise is that he would accidently kill her. When Curley’s wife dies Steinbeck describes her. He describes her as “having a half colouring of yellow hay”. This creates an image of her being like an angel. He describes the “ache for attention” gone from her face the word “ACHE” highlights how much she was suffering when she was alive. He uses words like simple, sweet and young this language shows that she is
