In the book “Of Mice and Men” Lennie is a tall strong man, but he has autism. It does not allow him to think about things the same. Lennie in the movie was distinctly different from in the book. Lennie represents people with disabilities. Lennie has some really great qualities, but then he has some really bad ones. In the movie he is presented differently than in the books in many ways. To me as a reader Lennie represents people with disabilities. He is very strong just not the smartest cookie in the jar. His body is very big, but his brain is not so big. Lennie has Autism, and that makes him not remember all sorts of things, and he speaks a little slow. Lennie also represents like a bodybuilder, because he is so strong. His not so great qualities get him in trouble most of the time. Some of his bad qualities include being heavily reliant of George. George did always take care of Lennie and Lennie did not know otherwise, and he always followed George. George provided him everything so Lennie was used to relying on him for things. One of his other bad qualities is that he also has a pretty bad temper. One good and bad quality is that he likes to pet soft things. Its good because animals love to be petted, but he likes to pet them too hard. In the very beginning Lennie puts a mouse in his pocket to pet, but he kills it. Lennie does not know his own strengths. He also kills a pup closer to the end. He always gets sad when he does it, because it is always an accident. One last bad trait is that he is very vulnerable. He doesn't like to hurt things or people. “He is just like a big baby,” curleys wife said. He also has some great qualities, Lennie is very caring. When George went to town Lennie got worried he wasn’t gonna come back, because Crook was talking about George died what would he do, because he couldn't comprehend the what if part. He also is super strong despite his intellectual disability. He can lift double of the other ranchers. One man couldn't work fast enough to keep up with Lennie. He could also protect George well. At one point Curley was hitting Lennie and George told him to get him,

Throughout the novel, Of Mice and Men, we meet an extravagant character, Lennie Small. Consequently, through his journey it is recognizable how personality and traits affect his goals and ambitions. A built massive white male, who is unbelievably strong, is unfortunately mentally retarded. “Behind him walked his opposite, a huge man, shapeless of face, with large, pale eyes, and wide, sloping shoulders; and he walked heavily, dragging his feet a little, the way a bear drags his paws” (2). With a step back from being mentally handicapped, georges lovable character traits can still be shown with the journey he took.…
