In the 1900’s, Hitler and Mussolini had a huge impact on the world. Not only were they supreme leaders, but they also led their country in the World War II. Hitler and Mussolini were both strong leaders who have different accomplishments. The stock market crash in the United States in 1929 led to a depression that left millions of Germans without jobs. Unemployment rates were very high. More than 33% of the labor force was with a job in 1932. Banks in America began calling in the loans that had issued to Germany. With bankruptcy, suicide, and crime rates increasing, both the Nazi Party and the Communist Party positioned themselves to take over when the Weimar Republic collapsed in 1933. This minister would form a new government. His Black-shirts swarmed the streets, and Mussolini demanded that he be chosen to become the prime minister. The king appointed Mussolini on October 29th, 1922, at the age of 39 years old. Mussolini needed more educations so he hired Giovanni Gentile, a philosopher and now his minister of education. He reorganized the school system and wrote many articles and books about fascism. 2 years later, Mussolini called a new election for the Italian Parliament. His party and a smaller allied party got 66% of the vote. Once the election was done, he closed opposition newspapers and banned public protest meetings. He declared all political parties illegal except for his party, known as the Fascism Party. He outlawed labor unions and strikes. He derived more emotional speeches while the crowd cheered fascism words like " Believe, Obey, Fight!” and "II Duce is always right" (Constitutional Rights).
Hitler and Mussolini were different but similar in many ways. With each of the coming from different families, it showed when they were dictators. Many people due to Fascism hated Mussolini, and Hitler hated Jews, which made people hate him. Hitler blamed Jews for all of his problems when he was younger, and in his older ages.
