There are some fundamental messages that all of the romantic comedies movies convey their audience. It is not necessary for this genre to have a happy conclusion all the time. However, the messages of the romantic comedy are usually positive, and relatable with its audience. The most common aspect of the romantic comedy movies named His Girl Friday and Adam’s Rib is the struggle in the love life of both couples. It is evident that both of the couples once lived happily but now due to the difference in their personalities, both of the couples are having a hard time in living a happy life. The distressing elements of the ordinary lives of the couples are described in these comedy movies by mixing them with humor. The protagonists in this genre …show more content…
The movie is about the Husband name Doris Attinger, a lawyer by the profession. The situation gets interesting when his wife named Amanda Bonner, becomes his opponent counsel in a case. The case was also about a couple in which the couple was having a hard time in living with each other. The situation gets intense when she gave him a hard time in defending his client in the court and the latter couple also starts fighting with each other. The movie presented some significant feminist views as the Amanda did not wash, cook or clean the house. She was usually away with her friends to enjoy her life. She also discussed that women and men are equal in nature, and there is no difference between them. She was also from the point of view that all of the women should be allowed to do whatever they want, and men should not dictate anything to them. The reason that she was able to possess these thoughts was that she was economically strong, and she did not need financial support from her husband. Therefore, it was evident that it would be difficult for the rest of the females to follow her actions because most of them are financially dependent on their …show more content…
Conversely, in the ‘His Girl Friday’ and ‘Adam's Rib’ a different approach was taken by to present a unique message to the audience. Though, these movies had the basic visual elements of the romantic comedy such as passion, emotion and the show of skin. The most significant visual characteristics of the romantic movie that was present in both of these movies were the fact that the path of love is never smooth, even after the marriage. Therefore, in order to make a claim with this statement, the love life of the protagonists in the both movies was presented before their quarrels. Overcoming the distance between the struggling couple was also a major theme of these films as the couples in the both movies were trying to work out their marriage life. Complications in the marriage life is also a major characteristic of the romantic comedies and these films also used these elements by presenting different types of complications that the both couples were facing in their married
