The most important similarity is that Perseus sets off on a journey to where Medusa lives to kill her and save someone he cares about. In the Greek version it is to save his mother from having to marry King Polydectes, and in the Hollywood version it is to save Princess Andromeda. The second similarity is that in both he has to save Princess Andromeda from being sacrificed. Hollywood told it by showing her mother saying she is more beautiful the goddesses, in the Greek story Perseus just happens to come across the sacrifice after killing Medusa and is headed home. Lastly in both of the story Perseus goes to the Graeae to find out what he has to do. The Greek story he goes to them to find out how to kill Medusa, however, in the Hollywood story he goes to them to find out what it is he needs to do to save the city of …show more content…
I prefer this one more because it has more action in it with the fight between Perseus and the men who went with him and the scorpion monsters. Another reason is because I like visual things and movies show the story whereas in a story you have to create your own looks for a character and it takes away from the story in my opinion. Lastly I liked the this one because it does not end how you think it would eith him choosing to become king instead of being noble and just being a man where the movie has it to where he declines being king and just wants to be a

From learning about Hercules and the Twelve Labors, and then watching the Disney version of Hercules, I saw that the two are very different from each other, yet share likenesses, Many of the differences that we see between the two are caused by the plot change. The two plots differed from each other, due to the fact that the enemies and allies had been changed. This change by Disney, therefore created the difference that we see between the two. That, and of course, making the movie more family friendly influenced the overall plot. While the Disney movie Hercules is quite different from the original, Hercules and the Twelve Labors, they have several aspects in common.…

The problem with that is sometimes, the story gets lost trying to add in so many changes and the story is lost, and the movie is not as good as it could have been, which happens frequently in almost all of the mythology films. When you make a movie you have to think about your target audience, and what they would enjoy For example, if you are making a movie aimed at kids, you aren’t going to include slaughter and sex. As a filmmaker, you would be forced to make some changes. That is main reasons why Greek mythology movies, aren’t really strong in being accurate. No matter how much it can anger people, Hollywood does, get some things right, even if it is a little bit.…

Ancient Greece can be traced back to the Stone Age hunters (6000-2900 B.C.); however, Greek culture was much more notable from 1100-146 B.C., and likely had a more profound impact on Western civilization than any other culture. From 1100-750 B.C., a period known as the Dark Ages, Ancient Greece was immersed with wars and invasions and, over time, was divided into small, city states. During the Archaic Period (750-500 B.C.), art, the beginnings of democracy, and the knowledge and understanding of the written language started to re-emerge. The Greeks fought the Persians during the Classical Period (500-336 B.C.) and Athens reached its greatest political and cultural heights, including full development of a democratic plan of government (Document…

Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mocking Bird has been hailed as one of the best classical stories of social class and racism in 20th century America. Set in a small fictitious town in Alabama the story is told through the eyes of Scout Finch, a young girl who cannot help but sympathize with her father who decides to defend a black man in a court of law. Immediately after its release in 1960, the novel became a hit, winning the Pulitzer Prize, and two years later the movie version was released. While the movie basically complements the novel by retelling the same events, there are some differences between the two versions of the story.…

I have a strong belief that Percey Jackson from the movie is a better and more relatable Perseus. An interesting fact, Percy Jackson is a little more selfless. Which a hero has a right to be. The movie O has many differences while also having many similarities to the play. The main similarity is that everything happens because of Iago and Hugo's plot against Othello and Oden. Another difference is that O is portrayed in the modern day but still stays true to the way the original play was written, while also the story has been altered it still holds true to the plot line. Racial tension can be noticed in both the play and the movie. Othello is a black man who is in the army and is known for his bravery and skill in war, and Odin is the star of his high school team he is also the only black kid at the school.…

Ironically due to the storyline; the book is better than the movie, because it is shows better description, character analysis, and it gets the point across to the reader to show what leads up to the main idea. Religion will, no matter what culture or environment, always be a sensitive topic brought up in conversation. Religion has been dated back before the birth of Jesus Christ which has been placed centuries before that. Religion was a big use and continues to be a use in telling stories or reaching out to specific audiences. We must ask ourselves, “What was Religion’s main use & significance in Theatre Culture?” I’ve chosen this topic because the subject is talked about briefly.…

Plot Clashes in Clash of the Titans Between Clash of the Titans, the original Greek story, and the 2010 movie, there are a variety of similarities and differences. Although both plot lines follow a similar pattern, the details in the Greek story are much different than the movie. Simply stated, in the movie version it is more about Perseus saving Princess Andromeda and reuniting with Io, while in the Greek mythology plot, Perseus is attempting to save his mother, Danae, from marrying the awful Polydectes by being challenged to chop off the head of Medusa. Similarities of this story and movie are that King Acrisius ordered the execution of his daughter, Danae, and her son, Perseus.…
