In Hawthorne’s “Goodman Brown” and O’Connor’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find, the use of evil displays a darker side that has influenced both characters. The understanding of their flaws has become evident in order to get a deeper meaning of oneself. Both are good men easily persuaded and influenced to perform evil acts.
While neither story is the same yet both are similar to one another. The symbolism in both stories can be considered a spiritual journey. A spiritual journey can only be explained and interpreted by one’s beliefs or some type of emotional development. While neither story is the same yet
