A difference that can be indicated is that Erin Brokovich had to struggle significantly more than Antigone. This is true because Erin was a single mother with three children who was not given respected by most people and really struggled to get respect and acknowledgement. For instance, at the beginning of the movie when Erin was hit by a man, in court the judge doubted that she was telling the truth because the offender was very well dressed and sophisticated and she was not. On the other hand, Antigone didn’t have too much to struggle with to fulfil her goal because she was already of high repute and status. In their struggle to accomplish their goals, both Erin Brokovich and Antigone had to face family based consequences. Erin had to sacrifice her family time in order to win her case which weakened her relationship with her family; causing her children to argue with her and boyfriend to leave her. Both Erin and Antigone are fighting for what they think is morally the right think to do like every other archetype. After analyzing both stories, a similarity that is emphasized is that both conflicts are person vs person. In Antigone’s case she has to defy the law set by Creon while in Erin’s situation she is suing a corporation called PG&E for the harm they caused the people of Hinckley, California. They do not just have the same type of conflict but also they both are in conflicts with people that have more power and authority than they do. Erin faces higher authority in the sense that she was trying to help the people of Hinckley by making PG&E pay for their damages. Whereas, one can say Antigone had conflict with higher authority because she had to go against the law that had been set by
