This is a report on the similarities of the Greek and Egyptian gods.Egyptian and Greeks have very similar gods, myths, religious festivals, and sacrifices to the gods. The Greeks highly regarded Egyptian magic and thought if it as secret knowledge. The Egyptian gods are an economical and a social staple in and Egypt, so are the Greek gods in all of the different city-states. In Egypt, the Gods weren’t a reason to go to the war, unlike the Greeks.

Gaea tried to convince her other children to kill Uranus, but the only one to do so is Kronos. Kronos got married to his sister Rhea, became ruler and he was very insecure about his rule because his father got killed by his child so he thought the same. So he had Children, he ate them. Rhea decided to trick her husband and instead of him eating Zeus gave him a rock.to eat. She sent Zeus to the mountains with some Nymphs. Zeus came back as a servant and poisoned his father and making him throw up all his children. The Sphinx was born from a Chimera and caused famine to whatever citty it occupied until it solves a riddle. Anyone who fails to solve the riddle is murdered and eaten by the Sphinx. When the Sphinx killed the king of Thebes son, he issued a Decree for anyone who solves the riddle gets his daughter in marriage and his whole kingdom. Oedipus solves the riddle and the Sphinx in frustration and anger leaps of the Acropolis and kills himself. Later the Greeks use Sphinxes as almost decorative items and were mostly associated with Crete. The Sphinx eventually ended up on funeral burial grounds. (Cartwright
