People are most likely are to favorite fictional characters who best represent their morals and values. When you have a popular character or hero in a culture, it is most likely that the hero or character represents importances to the culture. In America's modern society, Donatello, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, demonstrates our values in today's society. The hero Beowulf represents society’s values from 1000 AD. Beowulf and Donatello are accurate representations of their cultures and their values can demonstrate the similarities and differences of their culture.
Society is largely based on values. Values are a person's standards on behavior, and what traits they believe are important to demonstrate. Similarly, Donatello shows intelligence by teaching himself defense and always having a will to learn new defence. Bravery is another traits the two heroes share. Fighting Grendel, a dangerous monster, then Grendel's mother, makes Beowulf extremely brave. Donatello is brave because he never hesitates to interfere with an villian.
