Do you believe there is a difference between Christian faith and religious faith? It has been argued there is not. Many people mistake Christian faith and religious faith to be the same because Christianity can be considered a religion.
The similarities between Christianity and religion can often lead to the thought they they are one and the same. The main similarity is most religious-based faiths are built upon God and Jesus Christ. Even some religions that follow Christ are not considered Christianity because of the doctrine followed by their religion. An example of this is, Catholicism. Catholics believe in God, Jesus Christ and his mother Mary. According to their doctrine, Mary is the one who they pray to. You have to go through a priest to ask for forgiveness, and that priest gives you a punishment to fulfill in order to receive forgiveness. So, one might say their faith is in the priest or Mary. Another example would be the Mormon religion which believe in Jesus Christ and that he is the son of God. Lets start with the Pagans; in this religion they serve several gods and goddesses called deities. It is important to the Pagans they worship and make offerings to the appropriate god so they will draw closer to the gods and goddesses, who in turn will show favor for the sacrifices made. Pagans feel their works will get them to the place they desire to be here on earth as well as in the after life. Christians on the other hand have faith that Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice made by God himself so they are forgiven and are gifted heaven in the after life.
