The government is more realistic in Animal Farm than in the story Anthem. In Animal Farm, the pigs slowly take over the once democratic government, and what was once “All animals are equal” becomes “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.” On the other hand, Anthem takes a completely different approach. Equality 7-2521 learns that he is a worthwhile being, and that he should be proud that he is better than his brothers. Being “more equal” than his brothers is shown as a sign of individualism, not totalitarianism like in Animal Farm. However, this is unrealistic, since there are probably more people with the same level of intelligence as Equality 7-2521, and the weak “government” that was raised would most likely have been overthrown long ago. Equality 7-2521 states that “…they have nothing to fight me with, save the brute forces of their numbers.
