Similarities Between American Revolution And Ukrainian Revolution

The Atlantic Revolutions and The Ukrainian Revolution: The French Revolution influenced the world for years. Its effects are still evident today. The recent “revolution” in Ukraine has shown many similarities to the French Revolution with a more modern twist, however. The ideas and desires are still largely similar, but there are differences in the social, cultural, and means of interaction in the Ukrainian Revolution. The French Revolution was one of the most unique revolutions of its time. Violent and rapid, many aspects of it showed up in future revolutions such as the Haitian Revolution. Why did is start? What made it so unique and malicious? France’s government was an absolute monarchy, which means all the power is held by one person and it is unrestricted.This was no problem for the time because many governments did also have an absolute monarchy, but in France’s case the monarch was weak. Louis XVI was more concerned with personal interests, and when it came to making a decision he couldn't make a strong one, and his wife influenced many of his choices. The Enlightenment ideas appealed to the middle class and challenged the traditional absolute power by one ruler. When France aided the Americans in their revolution, many of the French came back from America with revolutionary ideas fresh in mind. Some of these included-but were not limited to- no taxation without representation, republics were better than monarchies , all men get freedoms, and if there is tyranny you should act upon it immediately and take arms, The hierarchical social structure was also largely biased towards estates (classes). For example, the first and second estates received more land per person than the much larger third estate, They also received less
