For example, Elizabeth is being loved and can be proven by, “I will fall like an ocean on that court! Fear nothing, Elizabeth”(pg.204). In this quote John Proctor is saying that he will confess everything in court so they could let Elizabeth free because she was arrested of having contact with the devil. John Proctor cares about his wife so he is going to do anything to get her out of this. This relates to the theme because John shows that he cares and loves Elizabeth by protecting her.
