1984 vs. The Hunger Games
In the book 1984, there is a lot going on with the government. Many characters in the novel worry if Big Brother is watching them and if they will survive. In the Hunger Games, the Capitol constantly spies on their citizens. Each country is being ruled by children and parties. There are many different ways in which they are being controlled so easily. In 1984, children are forced to experience list into something called “Junior Spies”. During this, all children are persuaded and encouraged to spy on their parents. Whatever they find their parents doing which can lose faithfulness than their parents are immediately reported to the party. In the Hunger Games, two children from each district from the ages of 12-18 are forced to tribute themselves and fight for their lives in the Hunger Games. Each child is given the chance to earn more food for their families by putting their name in the lottery an extra time. In 1984, the main authority was thought to reveal the police. However, that was not the case. People are not allowed to write down or think about their own thoughts. Whatever they believed was right or was not right will stay the same. For the Hunger Games, the authorities were presented as the peacekeepers. All citizens have to follow the rules of what the capitol set. If someone does not follow the rules, the peacekeepers will take it into their own hands. In 1984, people all the time would spy through telescreens on each other. There was nowhere people could go where they were not watched on
