One fought against the death penalty on death row, while the other did something horrible and was put on death row. But both had the same thinking of mind that what the government is doing was not right. The life of David Gale and Dead Man Walking have similarities and differences. The Life of David Gale consisted of 3 main characters, David, Betsy, and Constance. David was against the death penalty, and would fight tooth and nail at any moment to oppose it. Constance was a fellow colleague of david, she also opposed the death penalty, also had stage 4 cancer. Betsy was a news reporter interviewing David Gale. David Gale was on death row for raping and murdering his fellow colleague Constance. He requested that betsy interview before his execution so she can get the full story. But the thing was that the whole death and rape of Constance was setup by David, Constance, and her other friend Dust a fellow activist himself. It showed both sides of Sister Helen being a nun and helping someone for god, to Betsy the reporter doing it for a story. It also showed how very much alike and diverse Matthew and David were, both on death row, educations level very different. One going from a phd and the other not finishing high school. Lasty, it showed how the south is more different than the north. With how many executions they do compared to anyone else. Along with how watching someone die instead of being announced changed the perspective of the person's thinking. In the end the death penalty is not right, and the both the movies showed exactly the flaws about
