Similarities and Differences of Competing Brands
Similarities
Forever 21, H&M, and Charlotte Russe are competing teen and young adult clothing stores. They have the same target customers, and therefore have similar products to sell to the customers. The material they use in their clothing only varies slightly. For instance, if one were to buy a long sleeve patterned jumpsuit from each of the brands, they would all be composed of rayon or a rayon blend. Also one can find a suede fringe skirt at each of the retailers. The colors used vary slightly but for the most part are the same. The silhouettes are all alike as well. For instance, one can find a utility jacket at all three stores in a similar sleeve length, bodice length, and even all cinched slightly at the waist. The prices of the garments are all in the same range, since the materials and style of the apparel are identical. Banana Republic then follows in both price and quality, attracting consumers with middle-range pricing. The brand also has less of an assortment of business and casual clothing than J.Crew or Gap, so it is perceived by some as more of a specialty brand for trendy business clothing.…

According to the clothing assistants in Superdry, the price is higher than normal retailer stores as the procedure of manufacturing is more detailed with element of traditional design and seasonal features considered, therefore the price would be charges at a reasonable standard. If compared to the large apparel stores such as Zara, then it would be considerably higher as Zara mass produces clothing of the same styles, with less care and delicacy in the manufacturing process. According to promotion video reviews on YouTube and comments on Reddit, people generally consider Superdry products to be slightly overpriced, yet on Google reviews people have said that clothing were cheap and good quality. By making a conclusion out of the many information sources that I have went through, I would evaluate Superdry as being mildly expensive for its…
