In the past sections, we have learned about Truman and his reality while also getting to know Plato’s allegory of the cave. Accordingly, this brings us to the question and my thesis: “Is the Truman Show Movie like Plato’s Allegory of the Cave and do they carry through similar values and symbolism?”
The deep dark cave symbolically suggests a world of ignorance and the chained people symbolize the human habitants that dwell in this ignorant world. The shadows symbolically suggesting the world of sensory perception which is an illusion. Moreover, the chains symbolize our limitation in this material world due to us not being completely certain about which is the truest reality, because one has to live the reality to know
