Though Macbeth was more forceful with his assumption of power, Jack took control all the same from Ralph as Macbeth did to Duncan. Macbeth had taken power with extreme force by killing king Duncan but one still can not say that he was truly to blame for the murder. Some argue that he was not in his right mind because of the floating dagger but had yet to think of the fact that the witches could still be manipulating him. There is also Lady Macbeth who could be blamed, which in my opinion is very tragic because she was trying to help him be a great as he can be by convincing him to kill Duncan after he was doubting himself by saying “when you durst do it … Then you were a man” (1.7.49) but ended up turning him into a monster. Their dynamic-ness makes them interesting and extremely sad and emotional to the reader. They both caused chaos mentally to others as well as to their environment and both got addicted to the power they received. Both Shakespeare and Golding viewed the world similarly as such it is reflected in the characters they invent. Maybe humanity is truly misguided with its trust in people
