Greek mythology had many gods and goddesses, they each had a specific role on the earth. It all started from Uranus and Gaia creating kids that created kids. The grandchildren were very powerful so they decided to swallow them as infants before they grew older. Then Rhea did not want to have Cronus to swallow her child so she gave him wrapped up clothes that he ate thinking it was their children. Then Zeus grew older and was informed to trick his father and he ended up succeeding and became leader of all gods.(Greek Creation Mythology) “Zeus is now the God of sky, lightning, thunder, law, order, justice, and the ‘Father of Gods and men’.” Zeus shared rule of the world with Hades (god of the dead) and Poseidon (god of the sea). The end of the world in Greek mythology had already happened several times and their is still an earth now. One way the world ended was with Zeus. He was very angry with all the corruption and craziness with humans. He had asked his brother Poseidon, to unleash a storm that made hurricanes big enough to wipe out the world. When the humans were all dead, Zeus was relieved, he thought he would never see humans again. Zeus looked down on the mountain of Olympus and he saw a couple, Deucalion, king of Thessaly and his wife Pyrrha. He instantly knew that Prometheus warned them to save them. Zeus was in good mood after nine days of no humans, so he asks tells them to “Ask a favor, any favor.” They asked to make more humans. He ordered them to start throwing “their mother's bones” behind them. Deucalion understood what he meant about the instructions, their mother was the earth and her bones were the stones. The started to throw stones and when they landed they were turned into humans. Deucalion’s stones became men and Pyrrha’s stones turned into women. Then the world was
