In the book of Mice of Men Lennie is dependent, hard-working, and a caring person. He can never do anything on his own. Lennie is an immature person and he acts like a kid. Without out George, it would be extremely difficult for Lennie to live on his own and do things himself. This makes George responsible, clever, and compassionate. George is a liable person, not only does he need to take care of himself, but, he helps take care of Lennie. Lennie is a workload and hard to take care of both, George does it anyways. He always tells Lennie "God a’mighty, if I was alone, I could live so easy. I could go get a job an’ work, a’ no trouble.No mess at all, and when the end of the month come I could take my fifty bucks and go into town and get whatever I want."(Steinbeck, 7). He also particularly clever because when they got ran out of weed. George thought of hiding in the irrigation ditch so the dogs couldn't follow their scent.
