Ever wondered how the anti-gas drug simethicone can get rid of trapped gas? How about an example! Think about mixing soap and water. It is impossible to mix soap and water without making bubbles. Drugs such as simethicone can relieve extra gas in the digestive system. There are ways in which simethicone affects bubbles made from soap and water, and this drug can help people with excessive amounts of trapped gas. Simethicone is an anti-foaming agent used to decrease an amount of bloating. Small amounts of hydrogen and methane with swallowed air mostly in the intestines and stomach is a common cause of bloating. Through experimentation it will demonstrate how the drug simethicone can get rid of excessive gas. The parts of the digestive system include the stomach, intestines, and esophagus. They work together to breakdown food to obtain nutrients. Everyone has gas bubbles in their gastrointestinal tract. Eating and drinking fast, wearing loose dentures, chewing gum, talking while eating, and smoking are also causes of gas development, or bloating.
