1 Was Silvio the right choice for general manager of Schindler¡¦s India operations? Why/Why not ¡V give details.
This question can be answered by taking following 3 things in consideration.
1.1 Silvio¡¦s characteristics
This can be better explained by detailing his strengths and weaknesses.
1.1.1 Strengths:
As per Luc Bonnard, they trust him 100%, he has courage, he is young and flexible, he is generalist not specialist, and willing to go to India.
So here is the list of his strengths with the reason why this strength makes him the right candidate for the mentioned job.

In all, I feel that there was nothing wrong with Mr Napoli as a General Manager of Schindler India. I think the things looked bad just because of wrong planning. So I feel that somebody more experienced at Schindler with prior experience of Indian markets should have created the plan.

2 As Luc Bonnard how would you evaluate Silvio¡¦s first seven months as general manager of the Indian company? What advise would you offer?

Me as Luc Bonnard will see the following things for evaluating Silvio¡¦s first seven months in India.
2.1 Progress as per business plan
The business plan was to
„« Tie up with local manufacturers and logistics providers to produce most of the parts locally and import only low cost parts from Europe.
Mr. Napoli did an excellent job here to find out local competitive manufacturers and built good relations with them. Schindler had the tie up with BBL to manufacture the Schindler products in India. So India had the people experienced in Schindler products. Local manufacturers for better job would have recruited those people.
But the unexpected rise in import duties on the parts to be imported and also the increase in transfer prices for those parts raised questions on the plan to get those parts from Europe. Though this was not in hands of Mr. Napoli, it created a degree of doubt on his skills in my mind.

This looked very difficult
