The Silver City Neighborhood Alliance (hereafter "Alliance) is dedicated to creating safe, attractive, and resilient neighborhoods. The Alliance is a grass roots community resource that focuses on strengthening neighborhoods through connecting, communicating, coordinating, collaborating and celebrating. To that end, the individuals living in a neighborhood determine the boundaries of that neighborhood, even if these boundaries are not consistent with official land use or planning documents.

How were these roles similar to and/or different from the roles they might play in a consensus organizing effort?
The roles played by the neighbors/residents is the determination to keep to the boundaries of their community, support the purpose of the alliance and making substantial improvements to their area. Alliance nurtures and promotes safety, including crime prevention/deterrence, wild-re awareness, food storage, and community tool sheds.
The roles are similar because it identifies the issues in the community and the members are major contributors in assisting to resolve the problem in their community.
What were the tangible results? How were these results similar to and/or different from the intended results of a consensus organizing effort?
The tangible results by the neighborhood was similar to consensus organizing, because they were able to build goals that will assist them to accomplishment the purpose of the alliance.
The goals of the SCAN program are to:
1. Increase the participant's identification with the neighborhood
2. Promote neighborhood cohesiveness working together to solve problems
3. Increase neighborhood
