There is no pattern to how the fitful, abominable man known as Buffalo Bill, chooses his victims. But one thing is clear, all his victims, women, are found dead with their skin peeled of their bodies. Clarice Starling, who is just a behavioral science trainee now has to track down this awful man, but not without having to ask for the help of the renowned Doctor Hannibal “The Cannibal” Lecter who ate nine of his physcology patients before being arrested . The filmic version of The Silence of The Lambs and book version have the same plot line, but they have major differences in the audience's view on the main characters, the development of the story, and most importantly the connection between the one Doctor Hannibal Lecter and the main character Clarice Starling. The Silence of The Lambs is about Clarice …show more content…
Clarice is very fragile, she seems to be manipulated by the men around her and doesn’t act independently most of the time. Compared to the book Starling, movie Starling is weak and feeble and leans much more to the cliche female, not as powerful as the men, mainly Dr.Lecter. The movie Starling also does not try to hide her accent like the one in the book does, for what she is originally trying to do in the book is fit in more with the FBI agents and not seem like a jay. In the movie she doesn’t seem to be this all powerful, invincible, god-like woman who could go through anything untouched. This is especially heightened in the scene where she in hunting Jame Gumb through the basement. Her hands are shaky, her breath is fast, her heart is racing. Starling is more or less disconnected from the fighting. Lecter’s movie role is very different from the book too. He is also super classy in the movie but instead of being nice and looking out for Clarice in the beginning he seems to see her as his enemy. Just another one of Crawford’s people. They do slowly bond but he is much more tedious and sketchy then in the

Although his mindset was determined to break all the records in the game, many obstacles stood in his path ultimately skewing his priorities and driving him towards a path only ending with failure.…

Most people who watch films and read stories would say that the movie adaptation is frequently different from the book. The fantasy novel, Howl’s Moving Castle, by British author Diana Wynne Jones, first published in 1986 by Greenwillow Books of New York, is no exception to this statement. Sophie, the main character, is the eldest of three daughters and “In the land of Ingary…it is quite a misfortune to be born the eldest,” (Jones 1). Early in the tale, she gets transformed into an old lady by a spell that is cast by the Witch of the Waste.…

In both Crime and Punishment and Chronicle, it is obvious to draw parallels between the novel’s protagonist, Raskolnikov, and the movie’s protagonist, Andrew: both males are isolated by society, for which they are a contributing factor; both harbor a deep resentment against those around them; and both of them commit a violent act that ultimately marks their doom. The beginning exposition of both the novel and the movie spends a significant amount of time emphasizing the protagonists’ loneliness. The very first page of the novel describes Raskolnikov as someone who is “completely absorbed in himself, and isolated from his fellows;” in the same way, the movie begins in Andrew’s dingy room and shows him friendless as he gets bullied for his camera (Dostoevsky 1). As the storyline progresses, however, it is evident that these characters are not completely helpless victims;…

It seems an unfair view to expect a movie about a book to be exactly the same down to every single detail. Communities of fans will always find something wrong with a story, for it has “failed” to match expectation. Books are a place where someone can be dragged into the story and forget about everything else for a short while. Movies do the exact same thing, except it is seen as an easier way than books for a lot of people. Ignoring obvious differences (such as the fact that one is in picture form, and the other is in words), movies and books may not be so different after all.…
