• Tell us about an experience you had working as a part of a team on a collaborative project. What was your role? What did you learn from that experience? What do you feel you can contribute to a collaborative environment? o I have taken part in many collaborative projects, but the one most notable has been the production of a short film for the 48-hour film project entitled Plan B. On this project I was a grip on a team of 6 and we were all lead by a Key Grip who had absolutely no idea what he was doing. Tim Burton’s dark and creepy style is one of my favorites; the surreal practical effects of the ghost world make for a dreamlike movie.
• The Silence of the Lambs taught me that not every film needs a moral and that not every person needs motivation. The logical FBI agent Clarice beautifully counteracts the pure insanity of the main character, Hannibal Lector. The character relationship is brought forth under odd circumstances, Lector is asked to aid Clarice in catching a fellow serial killer. The series of conversations that follow are some of the greatest scenes in cinema history.
• Me, Earl and the Dying Girl taught me that relationships formed under stressful circumstances are not always doomed to fail. The friendship formed between Greg and Rachel was forced initially, but blossomed through Rachel’s hard times. Another reason this film spoke to me is because I relate to the character Greg as the person who flies under the radar in high school and makes films on the side. This relation helped me put myself in Greg’s position in the devastating and joyful parts of the

Writer-helmer-editor David Lowery (“Ain't Them Bodies Saints”) delivers one of the most rewarding movies of the year, a psychedelic, indie-style ghost drama that is beautiful and haunting in equal proportions. Resorting to long shots, which stimulate even more our curiosity, and perfectly composed settings, the director opts for a dead-cold stillness that characterizes an intelligent, layered tale related with a profound sense of loss, despair, and eternity. By the time we are introduced to C (Casey Affleck) and M (Rooney Mara), a young married couple who just moved into a suburban house in Dallas, we are also presented with a sentence by the acclaimed English writer Virginia Woolf that says: “whatever hour you woke there was a door shutting”.…

Rube Goldberg and Beyond As a High School Physics student in my Junior year, I was placed on a team and asked to build a Rube Goldberg machine. I had seen several YouTube videos on these ball rolling, random ramps, fast moving machines…but were we able to build our own construction marvel for extra credit? Rube Goldberg began his career as an engineer and later to become a American Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist. His vision of taking everyday household items and making them into crazy inventions that helped solve simple problems like ringing a bell, opening a door or moving an object, inspired me that I could create a Rube Goldberg machine.…

Translated from the page to the screen, the characters personalities shone through and added more to the overall feel of the film. My experience has been interesting, positive, and at the same time rewarding. My very first experience with working in group was couple of years ago during a final year project, in my country of birth. The project was in community medicine, and involved repeated trip to a rural community by my group to access their health status, and needs. We had many challenges, but overcame them all as a group. I learnt the act of collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making by consensus building, and most importantly; comradeship.…

Introduction In this reflection, I will focus on some important topics such as, what I learned about individual and business taxation from this course, what was my experience with the group project and what were the challenges that I faced during both the group project and this course. I am also going to add some main overall points that I learned. Tax is generally an amount of money that is charged by a government on a product, income, or activity so that it can pay for public services. In addition, there are several very common types of taxes: • Income Tax (a percentage of individual or corporate earnings filed to the government) • Sales Tax (taxes charged on certain goods and services) • Property Tax (taxes charged on the value of land…
