Significant Role In Shaping My Self Identity

Identity is what makes a person who they are. It is how you are perceived and how people see you. It's the way that you act around others that makes you who you are. People don't really know who someone truly is, so all that they can judge on is what they see on the outside. Each person has their own self identity and a different story on how they got it, whether it was from an event that happened in their life or something they grew up with. In my case, personally, it was from an event that happened in my life that has played a significant role in shaping my identity.

It was around the middle of December in 2013 where I was stuck in the hospital after feeling ill for the past couple weeks. This was my one of my favorite months and instead of enjoying it with watching Christmas movies on the TV and being with family, I was in the hospital. I never liked hospitals, they always gave me a nauseated feeling and sense of gloom. Going through this has made me believe that I can go through anything and take on anything life throws at me. It has made me a much stronger person than I was before. This situation made me become self aware about my identity and helped me find out new things about myself I never seemed to notice before. It made me look at life in a whole new and different way and not to take anything for granted. There are many factors that I could have talked about that influenced my identity, but this situation, in particular, is one that had the strongest effect on me and brought a lot of change into my life.
