My suspicions were confirmed
A very important day in my life was when I started going to the gym. I was a very enthusiastic twelve year old in sixth grade. Being very anxious and nervous I could not wait to see my body transformation in years to come. Constantly exasperated, I wanted my body to change so badly. This caused me to be nervous for what was to come in the future.…
On a breezy chicago early May Day in my junior year baseball season I was faced with a challenge that changed the whole way that I take on life. I was the starting shortstops for the varsity team at my high school team. I had this swagger about me that I was the starter and no one could take that from me. So I didn't put in any effort because I thought that I didn't need to. Well my life got flipped upside down on this breezy Chicago day.…
However, part of me was still bitter about the time I had wasted. A good chunk of time that I could have spent recovering was instead spent struggling to find a diagnosis. I spent days wondering why the scans said I was healthy but my body felt like it was falling apart. Although I was incredibly grateful that I had finally received my diagnosis and began recovery my thoughts continued to drift to those who were suffering as I had. I became inspired to use my experience to guide others.…

Hello my distinguish colleagues, In this discussion assignment, I will be sharing with you the results of my core values self-assessment, and I will answer the two important questions that were posted. Core values are fundamental principles that guide a clinician on what is proper and what is not. Our professional body, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has listed seven professional core values and these are the following accountability, altruism, compassion/caring, excellence, integrity, professional duty, and social responsibility (American Physical Therapy Association, 2003).…
Imagine an athlete that breaks a bone while playing in the big game and you were the most valuable player, a soldier in the Army who is hit with a surprise explosive device when on duty and loses his or her limb, and an innocent child that was born with a distortion or birth defect that makes it difficult for them to do daily activities. At the same time Imagine the failure to physically walk or do so agony free, or to sit, or do any kind of everyday activities or routine with no steady inconvenience. Regardless of whether one got harmed, conceived with a handicap disorder, or an impairment happens because of maturing of the person, there is an approach to help treat numerous problems. Evaluate a significant experience you have faced and its impact on you: The Domino effect I will never forget the day that I felt extreme pain and regret that taught me a perspective on life. A lecture will become a template to life and will contain relatively easy alterations especially during personal experiences, and so, a simple bike race breakout that turns out to a more painful recollection. Most of the children that might have witnessed it, would have complied with me as well.…
A 35-minute examination was completed at an outpatient physical therapy clinic. The patient had her caregiver/niece with her at the time of the initial evaluation and examination session. The caregiver sat off to the side and observed the therapy session as well as offered relevant information regarding the patient when appropriate. Patient presented with forward flexed posture at the thoracolumbar spine, bilateral flexion of the knees, left patella was slightly deviated laterally from midline, and a wide base of support (feet greater than shoulder width apart).…

Weight lifting is a subject with which I am extremely familiar. The reason why I know so much about this topic is because it plays a really big role in my everyday life. That diagnosis put a real scare into me.…
Freshman year was almost the death of me; physically and mentally. That year was not all fun and games, and from this I had severe depression from the constant stress. The AP and Honors homework had taken a toll on me. Late sleepless nights, and with my parents on my back I was too stressed for a fourteen year old. Enough was enough I went to my parents and confronted them on the issue.…
Running head: CORE VALUES 1 Core Values Joana C. Garcia, PT Utica College CORE VALUES 2 “Do unto others what you want others to do unto you”. People say you don't know what you've got until it's all gone. At 14, I learned this to be true in the most challenging and mentally degrading obstacles of my life. Bringing me down to the lowest point in my life and forcing me to realize you must work hard for everything in life. Looking back on this patch in my life, you may think that I would have wished it ever happened, but I'm grateful to have been able to learn my true grit. March 7, 2015.…
